Carmel Area Wastewater District Community Outreach at The Monterey County Fair
The District was well represented at this year’s Fair and received an impressive thumb’s up from the public. Our purpose (in addition to enjoying the Fair) is to educate the public about best sewer practices and tell them specifically what CAWD does. The District handed out informational brochures, sewer color books for children, and foam emoticon “Poop”. No surprise, the “Poop” was the most popular take away!
Carmel Area Wastewater District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Carmel Area Wastewater District
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and
other impairments to understand and use the website to the same degree as someone without disabilities. We welcome
feedback and can often resolve issues in a timely manner if they arise.
