The Engineering section performs plan checks, issues permits, develops, implements and manages capital projects, assists the operations departments and otherwise performs or contracts out all of the engineering functions of the District.

Current Projects

Hatton Canyon Sewer Repair/Replacement Project

CAWD is working to upgrade existing sewer infrastructure in order to meet sanitary sewer requirements and avoid sewer system failures. The Hatton Canyon Project is a sewer upgrade project that is currently in the design and environmental review stage. The Draft CEQA Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) is linked below.

Calle la Cruz Pipeline Replacement Project

CAWD is working on environmental review and design of pipeline improvements in and around the Carmel River Lagoon. The Calle La Cruz Project involves improving the pipeline infrastructure currently crossing the lagoon. Environmental documentation and draft construction plans are linked below.
